All too often, I get emails and questions from people about how and where to look for jobs, what to do, or where to get started. Realize this: deciding what to do is the first, and often most important step.
Successful people have a plan. They know where they're going, and they know how to get there. Sure, there may be some bumps and some unexpected detours along the way, but by and large, people who know what they want to do just do it.
So, if you think a career in criminology or criminal justice may be something you're interested in, take some time to do a self evaluation. Learn everything you can about all of the potential career paths available, and figure out which, if any, is right for you. Make a choice, and then make a plan. That way, you can make sure 2013 is your best year yet.
