I Love My Job and You Should, Too.

If you talk to most police officers, they'll probably tell you that they love their jobs. Though I don't have any data on job satisfaction among law enforcement, I can tell you anecdotally that most of my friends and colleagues in the business continue to enjoy coming to work every day, even after years of service.

Jobs With Benefits

Why is this? The short answer is, it's a great job. Even though a day in the life of a police officer can be tough, there are plenty of reasons to want to work in law enforcement, including a decent salary, great health benefits and an even better retirement.

Altruisms Aren't Always Untrue

Even more than that, though, is the opportunity to help others and to serve your community. Yes, I am aware of how altruistic this sounds, but it's the truth. The fact is, most of us feel better about ourselves when we're helping others. If you feel the pull to work toward making your community better, a career in law enforcement may be perfect for you.
