There's a lot of misinformation and myths floating around about police officers and law enforcement careers. From common stereotypes associating cops with certain tasty, delectable round confections (in law enforcement, we call them energy rings) to the almost universally accepted notion that law enforcement careers lead to divorce, there seems to be plenty of assumptions and almost no actual information.

To help combat that, and to help you decide if a career as a police officer is right for you, I've gathered some information that will help clear up the confusion and give you the truth behind common misperceptions:
